In most cases you need a high TOC original. This is the only time I ever noticed this. I used Summoner (original) and booted PSI-OPS (cool game by the way) backup. Now there is a time that a lower TOC disk booted a higher TOC backup. I then tried Tony Hawk Underground, high TOC, and the game booted. Example, I was trying to load up Splinter Cell Chaos Theory with a smaller TOC size and failed. Must be larger than the disk you are booting, in most cases.

I would have to disagree with you on the TOC refresh disk. For more in depth information on the exploit, visit the forums at This site constantly updates its list of what games works and don’t work off a HD.Ok so recently i have seen a few posts regarding CogSwap loader and its funtionality. Vice versa with NTSC games on a PAL PS2 system. PAL games will work on a NTSC PS2 system if the game is patch to fix the video signal. Believe or not, you’re not going to get 100% of all PS2 games to work off the HD because some game makers have found ways to make their games unplayable off a HD. If your PS2 is having trouble reading DVD based PS2 games but can read CD based games (blue discs) and PS1 games, then you can make the exploit work because all you really need is for your PS2 to read the PS1 game. Don’t even bother with using an USB HD because the loading of a game is horrible as well as the compatibility of what games work or don’t work. If you have a slim PSTwo, you can get an IDE HD to work but only with soldering a bunch of wires. Keep in mind that, it is better to have a chunky PS2 because the IDE HD is easily connected to the PS2 with the network adapter. Don’t waste your money on HDAdvance or USBAdvance because they’re basically just re-branded HDLoader and you can easily find the exploit for free on the internet. I’m using the “Arcade Mode” disc from Gran Turismo 2 (The Greatest Hits version) for my exploit, now if I was to copy my exploit for a friend, they will have to get the same exact disc to make the exploit to work.

Just keep in mind that if you’re copying the memory exploit from a friend’s MC, you got to have the same PS1 game that your friend is using in order to trigger the memory exploit and make it work.
